Publish Calling Card Book in One Week
I had been wanting to write a book on publishing for quite some time. I had some friends who wanted to publish their own books, and I had noticed the common themes among what my clients knew, what they didn’t know, and where they tended to get stuck.
I bought a vendor table at a publishing festival. Because I put my clients’ projects first, I had only a week to finish my book, but fortunately, I already knew exactly what I wanted to say. The writing went very quickly, and my proofreader was gracious enough to turn the manuscript around in the time it took me to do the design. I signed up for Amazon Prime specifically so I could get the books in time for the festival. From what I heard, between this book and a coloring book I designed, I sold more books than any other vendor at that festival.
I’ve also presented this material as an hour-long talk and as a 7-week course for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
